Small hydro power station Schwarzenseebach

Construction of a diversion plant at Schwarzenseebach river in Kleinsölk, Liezen, Austria.

E-Werkgemeinschaft Schwarzenseebach OG planned the construction of a small hydro power station on the Schwarzenseebach river. PI Mitterfellner was commissioned with the completion of all planning work, including a feasibility study, a pilot study, approval planning as well as detailed planning and overall management. PI Mitterfellner also carried out the supervision and overall management of the construction work.

Designed as a diversion plant and consisting of a catchment in the form of an uncontrolled weir with crest gate and bottom outlet, a penstock made from glass-fibre reinforced plastic pipes with a nominal diameter of 1400 mm, and an overground power house, the small hydro power station was successfully taken into operation in October 2013. The power station will supply enough clean energy for around 1300 households, which will be fed into the local power grid of utility Gröbming KG.
